Ongoing Optimization

Conversion optimization: launch day is the starting line.

A web presence that sits untouched after launch is already falling behind. I keep yours improving: testing what converts, refining AI behavior, expanding content, and turning data into decisions that grow your business. I work with businesses in Orlando and Tampa, and remotely with plenty more.

Jeremy Buff, Technology Strategist

I turn your website visitors into actual customers through smart design and continuous optimization. The site you have today isn't good enough for the business you'll be in six months.

Most websites are built and abandoned.

Here's what usually happens: a business pays for a website, launches it, and then nothing changes for two years. The content gets stale. The forms don't get tested. Nobody looks at the analytics. The AI chat (if there even is one) never gets refined. And slowly, the site that was supposed to generate leads fades into the background, collecting dust instead of collecting leads.

That's the difference between a website and a web presence. A website is a project with a due date. A web presence is a system that gets smarter, sharper, and more effective over time. It needs someone watching the data, running the tests, and making the adjustments. That's what I do.

The businesses that grow online aren't the ones with the fanciest launch. They're the ones that keep optimizing after everyone else moves on.

What ongoing optimization includes:

  • Conversion Rate Optimization

Testing headlines, CTAs, layouts, and forms to find what actually moves the needle.

  • AI Behavior Refinement

Reviewing chat logs, improving responses, expanding knowledge bases, and tuning lead qualification.

  • Content Strategy & Expansion

New landing pages, blog content, and service pages based on what your customers are searching for.

  • Analytics & Reporting

Monthly performance reviews with clear metrics on traffic, conversions, and revenue impact.

  • A/B Testing

Structured experiments on key pages to continuously improve conversion rates.

  • Technical Maintenance

Security updates, performance monitoring, and proactive fixes before problems become visible.

The Growth Loop

Measure. Test. Improve. Repeat.

Growth isn't a one-time event. It's a cycle. Every month, I look at the data, identify what's working and what's not, run experiments, and make your web presence better than it was the month before.

01

Measure

Review analytics, heatmaps, AI chat logs, and conversion data. Identify patterns, drop-off points, and untapped opportunities.

02

Hypothesize

Based on the data, form specific hypotheses about what changes will improve performance. No guessing. Every change has a reason.

03

Test

Run A/B tests, deploy content experiments, refine AI responses, and adjust conversion paths. Controlled, measurable changes.

04

Implement

Winners get rolled out. Losers inform the next round. Your web presence compounds improvements month over month.

Capabilities

Everything that moves the needle, handled.

Conversion optimization isn't just changing button colors. It's a systematic approach to every element that affects whether a visitor becomes a customer.

CTA & Form Optimization

Testing button copy, placement, form fields, and submission flows. Small changes here often produce the biggest revenue impact.

AI Chat Refinement

Reviewing real conversations, improving response accuracy, expanding the knowledge base, and tuning lead qualification so your AI assistant gets smarter every month.

Content Strategy

Identifying gaps in your content based on search data and customer questions. Creating new pages, posts, and resources that attract the right traffic.

Landing Page Optimization

Dedicated landing pages for your highest-value services, tested and refined based on real conversion data. Not set-and-forget. Set-and-improve.

Automation Expansion

Building out new workflows as your business grows: follow-up sequences, review requests, appointment reminders, and lead nurturing that runs on autopilot.

Monthly Reporting

Clear, no-jargon performance reports showing what changed, what improved, and what we're tackling next. You always know where your investment is going.

Beyond the Website

Web optimization is technology leadership in action.

The line between "website management" and "technology strategy" blurs fast. When I'm refining your AI assistants, expanding your automation workflows, and making data-driven decisions about your digital presence, I'm doing the same work a CTO does, just focused on the tool that generates most of your leads.

For many of my clients, ongoing web presence optimization is where the relationship starts. As their business grows and their technology needs expand, the partnership naturally evolves into Fractional CTO territory: vendor oversight, system architecture, security, and strategic planning across their entire tech stack.

You don't have to figure out which service you need upfront. Start with what's in front of you. The strategy grows with your business.

Questions about conversion work.

How do I know if my website is actually underperforming?
Compare what arrives to what converts. If traffic is steady but inquiries are flat, the problem is on the page, not in the ad account. The quickest tell is your own analytics: if you cannot see where people drop out of a form or which page they leave from, you are not underperforming so much as flying blind, and that is the first thing to fix.
What is a realistic conversion rate for a small business site?
It varies enormously by industry and by what counts as a conversion, so any figure quoted at you without context is a sales tool. A service business asking for a call behaves nothing like a store asking for a purchase. What matters more than the benchmark is the direction of travel: your rate this quarter against your rate last quarter, on the same definition.
How long before I see results from conversion work?
The first fixes usually show up quickly, because they tend to be obvious problems: a form that fails on mobile, a page that takes eight seconds to load, a call to action nobody can find. The compounding work is slower. Testing needs enough traffic to be meaningful, and on a small business site that can mean weeks per test rather than days. Anyone promising fast test results on low traffic is guessing.
Do I need a full redesign or just optimization?
Usually optimization, and I will say so even though a redesign is the bigger project. Rebuilding resets everything, including the parts that were quietly working, and you lose the data that told you what to fix. A redesign earns its keep when the foundation is genuinely broken: unusable on a phone, impossible to update, or built on something unsupported.
What do you actually change?
Whatever the evidence points at, in rough order of payoff: how fast the page loads, whether the offer is clear in the first screen, how much friction sits in the form, whether the mobile experience matches the desktop one, and whether follow-up happens after someone raises their hand. Most sites lose more at that last step than anywhere on the page.
Can you work on a site you didn't build?
Yes, and that is most of this work. I need access to the site and to your analytics, and I need to know what a conversion is worth to you. If the site runs on something genuinely unmaintainable I will tell you that before taking the engagement rather than after.
Who do you work best with?
Businesses with a site that already gets traffic and cannot tell you what it produces. Owners paying for ads without knowing which half creates inquiries. Anyone whose site was launched and then left alone. I am the wrong call if you have almost no traffic yet, because there is nothing to optimise and your money is better spent earning visitors first. I will say so rather than sell you testing you cannot use.
